Marie-Therese Heublein
Marie-Therese Heublein (b.1997, Germany) currently lives and works in Nuremberg, Germany.
Marie-Therese Heublein's paintings highlight our contemporary experience of being in-between those worlds - the physical and the digital, the real and the surreal.
Throughout her work, there is a recurring motif: the fractured body that metamorphoses into new, enigmatic shapes, seamlessly integrating into uncharted landscapes. The interplay of graphic shapes subtly hints at perspective, while the deliberate use of negative space invites the viewer to engage with the canvas on a profound level.
While reflecting our collective uncertainty about the environment and our future, her practice nonetheless remains optimistic, positing alternative futures and paths of evolution with boundless imagination and playful curiosity.
